Does your fuel pump buzz?

When you turn the key to the run position (Just before it cranks) does your fuel pump turn on?

I can't hear mine, but I know most of them you could probably hear if you were listening for it. I just haven't heard it.

Some are just louder than others but they all should come on right before you crank the starter.

I replaced mine w/ a walboro when I bought it (the oem one was bad). And the new one is loud as hell.

Mine does. Its loud. I use it as a signal to let me know when to start cranking. I turn the key to "ON" and then wait with my hand on the key, and as soon as the buzz is over, I turn the key to start cranking.

Most modern EFI systems crank the fuel pump up before you physically turn the starter.

My 90 4runner had this, as did my old Subaru. The noise got quieter as the fuel pump aged, and then went out. When I replaced the pump with a new one, the noise was much more noticeable again.
