nope, and infact i'm pretty sure land rovers and range rovers are made by 2 different companys now, i think the land rover was sold to ford and range rover BMW, i'm not positive though....

orginaly both were produced by the rover company, but they sold it to BMW and merged with the company MG becoming mg-rover... http://www.mg-rover.com

BMW then sold it to 4 private buyers and after a stedy decline since the 60's it seems like mg-rover is going down completely, which i personally think is a shame because i was looking forward to buying both a 1960 mg and an new mg when i had the money...

well, that is called a range rover and that is designed by bmw but carries the rover name (of the old rover-mg company)

the land rover is made by ford but carries the rover name (of the old rover-mg company)

rover-mg now, produces only cars, no SUVs like you said ealier, but they (rover-mg) sold the rights to range rover and land rover to bmw and ford respectivly

Oh...i am still not sure about the things that you say...but oh well.

You do know that Range Rover will have a Jaguar engine and powertrain...then what would you call it?? Range Rover is under the Land Rover name...it's not a separate company. Maybe the NAME is registered differently, but there's no "Range Rover" company. Ford bought out Land Rover...and along it, the Range Rover. BMW does NOT have anything to do with Range Rover...not since they sold the whole Land Rover company to Ford.

Maybe we're not saying the same thing...but do you have any articles to back up your statements??
