Hey guys just a warning. I ordered all weather weathertech mats from crutchfield last week and even though they say they carry the mats on their website, they will send you the universal mats for the rear. Which still doesnt make sense to me since they sent me the correct custom mats for the fronts but not the rears? But anyway, just wanted to spread the word incase anyone is thinking of saving money and ordering from them instead of directly from weathertech.
Don't order weathertech floor mats from Crutchfield!

Interesting. I always went direct with them never looking anywhere else. I don't see the DigitalFits on the Crutchfield site. May have just overlooked. My Weathertechs should be here Monday next week. :cheers:
Thanks for the info. I did see the price.....ouch. I am currently running my dad's OEM Tacoma carpet floor mats (with TACOMA written on them and everything) Guy at Toyota said he would try to find me some OEM 4R rubber mats (after I just bought the used '05 from him). He ended up calling me to say he found 'em....only to pick up a pair of rear rubber mats that were big (guessing Tundra rear 4-door mats) but I threw them on top of my fronts for now (almost big enough too lol)
The Trail Gear from Cabela's are Weathertech. I purchased my fronts last year, they came in a Weathertech box, with an additional Trail Gear sticker you could attach. They shipped direct from the factory.
i actually went with the all weather mats, not the DigitalFits. Not sure why but liners just look funny to me... I only went through Crutchfield b/c i had a $20 off coupon and they offered free shipping, shoulda went straight to the manufacturer. When i called crutchfield to complain about my order, they said they couldnt get me the right ones for the rear and that i would have to order them from weathertech directly. I was not a happy camper. doesn't make sense that they ship from the factory, not crutchfield anyway, so why cant they get me the right mats for the rear when they got me the right ones for the front??
Correct, there is no smell and from a materials standpoint the Weathertechs look just like the plastic covering on the door step.

WeatherTech floor mats are not custom fit. They have somewhere about 80, or maybe more, patterns for the front. A lot of times of these "quasi-custom" patterns will work out pretty well. But the rear are ALWAYS the same no matter what car you specify them for. It needs to be cut or trimmed to fit.
I found this out after ordering a set of them for my Camry back in 2004. I contacted them and said the fronts don't fit that well and your Corolla one looks like a better fit. WeatherTech then explained it was a quasi-custom and that's the best pattern they've found for the front, but they would give me the Corolla ones if I wanted. But the problem was the Corolla had the better driver side, but the passenger side would be way off.
I never knew this cause the set of WT mats my friend got for his TL were perfect.

I'm getting mine soon for the Lexus. I don't know if I agree 100% with this so we'll see. Hopefully I'm not wrong.
true but on the weathertech website they specifically have rears mats. The code is a W136 and the picture looks like they are molded specifically for the t4r. All i'm sayin is that crutchfield should specifically say that the rears you are buying are the universal ones, not the specific molded ones weathertech has, especially if they are going to sell the correct front ones. I mean, if you scroll down the list, they do sell the universal ones and mark them as universal.

When looking into some things on our end, it was discovered we had associated the incorrect Weather Tech item number for the rear floor mats for this vehicle. We are normally very careful and rarely make this type of mistake.

I don't mean to possibly sound argumentatvie Uneek, but when I ordered my mats directly from WeatherTech they did list the T4R with a specific order number for the back mats. In addition they fit perfectly as if made by Toyota for a new vehicle, and didn't need any trimming. Maybe outside vendors will tell you the backs are universal, but that wasn't my experience when dealing with the manufacturer directly.
On trimming:
The rear floor mat (i.e., for the 2nd row seats) for a 4th gen with third row seat option must be trimmed to fit around the little plastic interior steps next to the 2nd-row seats. Weathertech website states this and I can confirm. I'm still very happy with the mats though. (Edit: this is the "DigitalFit" mats...)

Uneek the liners and mats both are custom fit for the 4runner. If look at the part numbers for different vehicles they are all different meaning the mats ARE custom molded and NOT universal. They are vehicle specific. Weathertech does however sell universal mats. I've bought these mats for just about every vehicle I've owned so I know they are vehicle specific.
