Door control relay

I just replaced my Door control relay but still not power to my windows or any thing else in the door. any ideas??

What year, trim line, options, anything else relevant which may help.

What led you to replace the relay in the first place? Only one door having issues? all doors having issues? Etc, etc.

- 89, V6, EFI, SR5, 5-Speed Manual
- Both of the door controls did not work, after researching i found the possible issue to be the Door control relay 85980 - 89101, so i found one, installed it but still a no go. So i checked the power to the wires leading up to the relay and i have no power to them. I have a good ground just no power. Tail gate window works fine

H'mm, if you have no power to the relay, I'd check the fuses first.

i have many many times. unless there is a box i am unaware of. I have checked the one at the drivers left foot and just for shits and giggles the box under the hood. unless i just happened to buy a bad relay.

Do you have a diagram on the circuit? Since both sides don't work, I'm guessing it's a power issue. You need to see where you have power and where you don't. If the relay is just switching a ground to complete the circuit when you push the window switch; then you can supply a ground at the switch, bypassing the relay, and make it work. If there is no power there, then you have to trace back and find out where it comes from. Work your way back to the source; or check the source and work your way forward. You probably have a double relay with each half working one side of the vehicle. Pull the relay and look at the socket. Check for pushed or corroded contacts. Sometimes when you push a componet into a socket, some of the contacts push back away breaking contact.

I am thinking it may be the double relay as i have already taken the dash apart once and traced it back to the one relay at the passanger foot panel. i found no power comeing in to thay harness. so i am hoping it is just another relay. thank you

door relay switch

If you find that you do not need the door relay, I would be interested in buying it. I can not find one and need one for my 87 4runner.
