Door Drain

Is there a drain on the doors by any chance? I currently have a piece of cladding which snapped off the front passenger door. I plan on replacing it but was wondering if it will fill with water and debris in the meantime with no way of draining it. Thanks.

Plenty of water gets in the top of the door where it meets the window. You'll be fine.

Water can make to the inside (from the top of the door) if the inner door plastic isn't in place correctly and sealed - but if you aren't having problems with that now, those cladding holes won't be a problem either.

Water drains right out the body pinch welds. That's exactly where the front sunroof drains lead to. If you pour water into your front drains, you will see it dripping right out of the pinch welds. I'm assuming it would be the same all along the body pinch welds where water can make it's way out.

If you live in tha salt zone you shud spray rust inhibitor in those bottom holes of the door to prevent them from rusting from the inside out as salty water will drip in from the windows. Not fluid film as it will stink up your truck in summer but something linseed oil based. In Canada we have rust cure 3000 which is awesome but you yanks dont get it.

I use WD40. Block the holes and let it soak in.

I have my doors and rockers full of fluid film. WD-40 is another good choice.
