on a rare occasion my auto door locks don't work, yesterday they did not work and I noticed that my dome light did not come on when I opened the door. IS the door light dome switch all linked in with the auto lock and unlock. If so that will be a cheap fix to my doors sometimes acting up ?

My auto lock on the drivers side crapped out on me. I bought a door actuator for like 30 bucks and did the work myself. Only took 30 minutes but was a pain in the ass. As for the dome light, that's an electrical issue with maybe the wires getting pinched in the door jam.

This happened to me in the last few months and on the 2nd occasion it happened someone walking by at 230am (reviewed the cameras at where I live) they opened my unlocked doors, took about 1500.00 in items. Really depressing because I don't have the money to replace the item's I appreciated and helped me personally. I took off my keyfob and ONLY use my keys to lock/unlock the door now for the last 2 months. Now every night my dad also checks the rig if it's locked cause I can't remember things.

I will say it was weird when it first happened, cause it was ONLY the driver door affected. Than it seemed that my FOB wouldn't work. Tried my back-up, FOB and it seemed to work for all my doors. I do like how using my key to lock the doors still engages the alarm as I found out one day when I tried to open my hood after locking the doors. Made my heart rate increase x10.

when my auto locks work, they all work.
but like I said the door dome light switch is bad. I played with it a few minutes ago, and confirmed the switch is bad. I can push it in and let it out. sometimes it works, sometimes it does not and sometimes with it pushed in the light flickers. I did it on all my doors and only the driver side does that.
so I just ordered a replacement, and it will be interesting to see if that does anything to the autolock too since something in my electrical is saying door is open

wont know for a few days ( part shipped to house and I wont be there for a few days)

Sure, the Body ECU (behind the inside fuses) controls both locking and interior lights. If it sees an open signal from any door, the locking function is blocked.

But it SHOULD be registered in Oregon...if you follow the rules :)

Not from :) hehe

Mine's I think from East Coast somewhere for like 6 months than it traveled over to here. Least the carfax said so.

Yeah mine floated around Colorado for a while then up to Seattle and down here to PDX. She's a registered Oregonian now

mine was sold and serviced from new at the dealer in Portland, both previous owners had all the work done at the dealer, including flat tires. I'm 3rd owner, now it is far from Portland and has not seen a dealer in the 3 years I have owned it. :) no stealers for me.

an update.

so the new switch has been in for 6 days and I have had no issues with my auto door locks since.
when I installed it, I sat in it for a while and prob turned on the keys 5 or 6 times, and it worked perfect each time.

So those of you having issues with your door locks, check all your door jamb switches before spending tons of money.

And thanks again to TheDurk for explain how a door jamb switch can make the auto locks act up
