Door Lock Problems 99 Limited

Hello,

I have a 99 4 runner limited, and i'm having door lock problems. My 1999 4Runner the doors began making the lock/unlock noise It did this 4 or 5 times in rapid succession then stopped. I guess they do a dance, by going up and down? Any ideas what this may be? I've searched on various forums. Can it be the ECU IG fuse, or solenoid, or actuator? Maybe some bad wires? I have the stock alarm by the way

I just check the FSM and unfornately found no troubleshooting tips for that behaviour. How often does it happen?

Thanks 4 the reply. It happens pretty much all the time. The doors will be unlocked, it keeps making the sound like it keeps trying to unlock, even tho they r. U think a ground wire hooked up to the stock alarm is bad? Maybe I should unhook the battery and just reset everything?

check the lock/unlock/key in sensor on the door key cylinder, they tend to fail and make problem like that

remove the wire from the alarm sys and see if it stops. Sounds like the alarm is sending multiple pulses to your door switch
