Door Sensor Help

Was wondering if anyone has had an issue with this sensor? I haven't really looked into what's behind the cover due to lack of time. I can move it around and it will work, but every now and then it won't so my courtesy light doesn't come on. If anyone has fixed/replaced it I would appreciate some info/help. Thanks!!

It grounds to the sheetmetal via that bolt, it's an L-Shaped unit and the plug can be accessed from the back by taking the B-Pillar cover off.

I replaced mine about a month ago. Same symptoms you described and a new switch fixed it. I didn't remove the B pillar cover. I just unbolted the switch, gently pulled out some slack in the wire, unplugged the old switch, plugged in new switch, bolted it back on. Has been working ever since.
