door sill enhancements - worth it?

Did anyone have to use extra tape on these?

I just tried to install some and only one of the four stayed on.
Any ideas? Should I take them back for an exchange or just add some extra 3M tape to them?

If it were me, I'd take them back...That 3m tape sticks like crazy. Something was wrong or they never would have come up on you. You did clean the surface first and strip any wax before install correct?

I personally removed the plastic there, but some people installed it over top the plastic and it cleared the doors okay.

I'd like a pair since they do look great but they'll just get scratched up and it'll bug me.

On 4th gen models with the plastic there, they mount right overtop and look great. If you want to see the pics, email me and I'll shoot you a few.

These will protect the door sills area, as they are real stainless and won't scratch like plastic can and will.

the 2006+ door sill, looks way better, matches the lettering of the 4th gen 4runner. i paids like around 100-130 off ebay.
