Exhaust built by NorTex Auto Works in Ft. Worth. I'm not sure what they are using but they definitely know their Toyotas. I heard this on a Tundra and knew it was spot on for what I wanted.

You can see a side built out alone on attached. The other sensor would be just downstream of flange shown in this pic.

I took my v8 to the shop on friday to install DT Headers and a Gibson catback system.
He wasn't willing to install the headers because it required the welding of the cats to the headers. Pretty disappointing to have there for 3 days and that be the conclusion.
I was warned about the difficulty of having such work done, and a recommendation of buying the full flanged bolt on setup was the best way to go.
Any thoughts?

There’s no longer emissions in WA. But I hate the smell of running catless. I will eventually get the DT long tubes and a single 3” slip on stainless magnaflow high flow cat. Will have an exhaust shop modify the center pipe that extends between my URD Y pipe and my URD magnaflow muffler to accept the cat with two stainless clamps, (basically cut and clamp in). Then I will attempt install of the long tubes whenever is convenient without having to worry about welding.

I now have LONG TUBE headers that were just released that don't require welding and a new Y pipe for a great deal. Now some states need cats, but for you, the welding isn't hard. This should be a big deal for them to do.

It's no problem, i just texted him. So the mufflers are designed in-house by them and an friend of the owners. X pipe is Jones.
Contact Dave on their FB page and he can probably give you more info. They do production runs and can ship them out too.

Jason (thank you sir) sold me the shorty headers, magnaflow cats, y-pipe, gibson SS exhaust with dual black side exits. I did put the O2 sensor spacer in.
Running like a champ. I enjoy giving it gas more now and am still on the dash showing a 1mpg increase.
A bit of a drone at cruising rpms. Hope that drops a bit over time?
My shop did the welding and install of everything in a day and charged me just under $1k.

Your welcome! Glad to hear it. .Yea, it should get smoother and you shouldn't notice anything then. Yes, for the shorty headers, they do require welding. The new LONG tubes I just got do not need welding. $1k isn't bad. I've heard anywhere from $500 in Colorado, they do a ton of these, up to $1,200 install. Most seem to pay around $800-$1k, so you did good.
For anyone in PA, we can install these for you for around $750.

I installed the long tubes last weekend. I had to use about 10 different 14mm wrench and socket setups. To get the bottom 4 off I used a universal joint with about 4 extentions and a breaker bar.

2003 GX470 guy (non vvti) Dan Kunz threw down some dyno results with the DT long tubes and a full custom exhaust with high flow cats after that.

From my butt dyno I'd agree! Good gains and no more ticking manifolds.

I've heard from many, with the shorty's 3-4 mpg highway, that's highway at 65 mph and chilling. THere'a a lot of older posts on there with people saying that, which is kinda mind blowing if they did their numbers right.

I ordered the DT headers (long pipe) and Y-pipe from Jason B (great guy and super-responsive) in 2019 but never got them on my 4th gen v8. Due to family change I sold my 4Runner and my wife wants them out of the basement. My loss, your gain.
