Lance, or anyone else with knowledge of Downey products, I'm interested in Downey's rear coil lift for my 4R. (Link ) Can I run the coils alone in the rear or are additional components, ie. shocks, needed? What are the drawbacks to running the coils in the rear and spacers, ie. Daystar, up front? I do not want or need an extreme lift. I'm looking to add 2" overall to make the 4th gen. a tad more off-road friendly and hopefully level out the 4R's appearance. I also do not plan a significant increase in tire size, as I'm going to go with a 265/70-17 BFG AT.
For the cheapest route, stick to spacers (either daystar or revtek). Since the only lifts available for the front are spacers, you might as well go spacers in the rear too until you outgrow them.
You can offroad perfectly in spacers so I wouldn't worry about their performance on them. Also even with the spacers on, it'll still look fine and run normally w/o any performance losses.
Since you have the sr5, you can always upgrade to a better suspension lift but until it's available, I'd say just go with the spacers. Can't go wrong as their prices are pretty reasonable for the amount of lift you can gain!
