This is a somewhat dangerous job, transmissions are heavy and you don't want one slipping off the jack while you are under there ligning things up. Flywheels can also be a struggle to remove and is another heavy, dangerous item that you do not want landing on you while you are down there. At a minimum recruit a friend or relative to lend a hand experienced or not.
Clutch replacement is one of my most dreaded tasks. It is not very diffucult per se, but plan on it taking most of your day if you are somewhat experienced, if you are not that experienced in DIY then plan on most of the weekend being absorbed. You will need a transmission jack and some basic hand tools, as well as a torque wrench and some large sockets (22 or 24mm i forget exactly) Don't forget to have your flywheel resurfaced or if it is cracked just replace it.
A Haynes or Chilton manual will serve you fine, it is a pretty basic, straighforward job if you follow it in sequence. While you have things apart down there be sure to replace your rear main seal. I highly reccomend an Exedy clutch kit if this is a daily driver. They have excellent discs and you will love the feel of the pedal when you are in traffic. The bonus of the kit is it has everything you will need: throwout bearing, disc, pressure plate and pilot bearing and the much needed clutch disc alignment tool. I have found them on Ebay for a good price but normally I buy at partsgeek.com if I want my parts with next day delivery (great prices too).
