drive home from dealership

No sure if this is normal. At first I thought it was an alignment issue, but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this....

Signed the contract and gave the dealership some money. On the drive home I had the back seat windows open 1/3 - 1/2 and noticed between 70-75mph there was a pretty serious alignment wobble/shake. Later that day I went out for a round of golf windows up didn't quite get to 70mph and the shake was significantly less.

I will be doing some more tests with windows at speed before bringing it back for an alignment, just wanted to see if anyone else has experience with this possible window or alignment phenomenon.

When I got my 96 I had the same thing going on replaced all the sway bar linkages and bushings then had an alignment and it was all good

SUVs in general have an aerodynamic property that will create a buffeting inside the cab when the rear passenger windows are down.

Try this, roll the rear passenger windows down, go for a drive, when you feel the "shake" roll the back (liftgate) window down and see if the shake goes away. If it does, you are feeling aerodynamics, not alignment.

I'll have to check this when I go pick up my new TRDORP TODAY! The buffeting is understandable, but if you're feeling handling gremlins in the steering wheel or your seat, it sounds like something else...good luck!

I had the buffeting in my 02 Sport with the back door windows down half way or more. It really kind of messed with my ears, if i put down one of the fronts it was fine. Then we got the 2017 SR5, and have the same thing, my wife said what the hell, is this a toyota thing. I have not driven other suv's so i do not know if others are the same. Sometimes i put the hatch window down a little and that seems to help.

Every 4 door vehicle on the road will do this with the rear windows rolled down.

It was definitely the windows. I’ve never seen a passenger seat rattle like that before just from windows.... at least an inch of movement

After many tests it is definitely the windows.

Did you get the same issues if you have another window cracked (driver window cracked and rear window down). I don’t do much highway driving going to work and back, rarely exceed 55-60, but if I have the hatch window down I’ve got to crack another window or it’s ear drum Armageddon

Yea I've noticed that as well.. Crack the front windows an inch and it goes away. Every car I ever owned did that.
