Drive indicator

Am I the only one who's drive indicator on the dash doesn't light up when you shift in drive? I'm not sure but I think I've seen a video of a guy showing of his 3rd gen and I think his thing didn't light up either so I was wondering maybe its common. Anyways thanks.

Mine is about half as bright as the other indicators. I figured it was supposed to be that way since you're almost always in drive...

The indicator lights is supposed to be on when you have the tranny in drive or any other gears. My is also out I took it to the dealership and they told me that the diode was burnt and its not worth replacing it. Are all your others gear indicator out too?

mine is the opposite: the light in the indicator next to the shift lever keeps going out.
The dash one works fine(so far). One more chink in the slushbox armor... :/

Mines out also. Been that way for about a year and a half now.Figured if i'm moving forward, im in drive. Im the type that likes a dark dash at night anyway.

I had the same problem with the light behind the "d" on the dash was burned out. I took the bulb out of the "l" indicator and switched it with the burned out bulb. Still working. Very easy to replace.

Same here, mine's half as bright as the others even if my lights are off. :crazy:

this is my write up on taking apart the dash to change out bulbs. yes your "D" bulb is out.

Same here. I managed to grab a whole mess of replacement bulbs from a wrecked Runner at a junkyard, just been too lazy to replace them all... :bored:

I replaced all the bulbs a few years back as the y will "silver" and go dim.
Next year, going all LED's instead
