What is the latest regarding Toyota's stand on the drive shaft thunk & clunk? Have any TSB's been issued or a new drive shaft put into production?

New Lexus GX470 has the fix. The only sure thing is to get your 4runner (or another 2007 on the lot) and match parts numbers with the Lexus TSB........assuming that Lexus and Toyota use the same part number system.

Mine is not doing it very often lately, either. I think that the A/C kicking on and off all the time emphasizes the problem, and it's not really A/C season right now.

Mine stopped doing it for some reason

I wonder if the synthetic grease you have been using worked out all the petroleum grease from the factory. As a result lubricates everything so well that maybe it will never do it again.
