drive without power steering?

Power steering on my 99 blew a big leak in the steering rack while 2 hours from home. Can I take the belt off the power steering pump and drive it (strong arm) like this to get it back home? Thanks

I agree, it's going to suck but I don't think you'll hurt anything.

As long as your on the freeway it won't be a problem. Its the parking lots that will be a pain.

You'll be fine. drove my 68 cougar like that for months because i was too lazy to change my blown power steering hose. be prepared for a workout when you try and make tight turns though :lookout:

Thanks for the replies, I just want to check and see that I don't damage anything besides my shoulder driving it. I already drove half mile to get it to a tow truck, so did some slow speed maneuvering, it's work, but doable.
Now, to research replacing the steering rack.:driving:
