Driver Seat Height (Which do you like?)

Hi,

Was riding along and decided to raise my seat up from not seeing the hood to seeing the entire hood. I think I like sitting up higher.

Which option do you all like? Seeing the entire hood or not?

After driving full size trucks for 15 years, I feel strange sitting low. I prefer keeping the 4Runner seat near the highest setting for a more truck like vertical driving position. Fortunately I’m only 5’8”, so I still have plenty of head room.
 
If only the owners whining about the "glare" from the hood scoop were reading this thread.......

Up/down, forward/backward and tilt, it's like magic.......

A person whining about other people whining...hmmm...

Or you like sitting high up, so you put your seat where your ass likes it then wrap your scoop in matte vinyl to avoid the glare like I did.

all the way down, it's the only way the roof line isn't halfway into my field of view

offroad i lift it up at least halfway

I'm tall. Even if I chose to comprise my seating position in any which way I got horrible glare.

You live in oregon with a black truck. I live in Arizona with a white truck. But hey you know everything right?

I have it at the lowest setting.

I'm only 5'9 but my hair is really high lol might stick up 2"-2.5". There's only ever been 2 vehicles I've owned where my hair didn't touch the sunroof liner -that was a subaru sti (made so people could wear helmets in it) and this 4runner. Every other vehicle, I've had to tilt my head to the right a little bit.

How's that for stupid? haha
 
I'm 6'7", so I keep it all the way down to fit. I always lean on the center console when I drive, so headroom hasn't been an issue.

Though I think I'd be toast in the event of a rollover.

A Prius...? Is there a story to this...? There has to be, right?

I'm sure the world is full of wonderful Prius people... However they seem to be a unique bunch.

The change from a Prius to a 4Runner is substantial... There has to be a good story behind the change...
 
Raising the eat also brings it forward. I'm 6'4"and barely have enough legroom with the seat all the way back and down. I also keep the seat back reclined at about 50-55 degrees to be more of less comfortable. My head is behind the center pillar, so I have to look through the rear door window when making a right turn at an intersection. My lower half of my back is fused. This makes it impossible to sit straight up, like in a 2 door truck.
I wish the seat moved back 3 more inches and the steering wheel also moved back about 4 inches. Wishful thinking...
Unfortunately, everything is made to make short people comfortable. No one thinks about tall drivers. :mad:
Being tall is a major handicap. My 4Runner is one of a few vehicles with relatively comfortable seats and just enough legroom to crawl in and out of the truck. Steering wheel still gets in the way when getting in and out of the 4Runner.

Just had to get it off my chest.........
