Driver side A pillar wiring harness

Hey everybody,

Trying to get this stupid wiring harness open to install a breakout harness in between the connectors but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to separate this thing… anyone ever get this dang plug released?

*installing a Vled footwell lighting kit. This is what the instructions show for this step (& no it is not as easy as simply placing your finger on the plug as referenced in the photo…there is no catch to release where they are pointing):

Ran into the same issue. Ended up demolishing one of them to get the connector out. Looking for advice before I tackle the one on the passenger side.

Be advised that the instructions are not talking about separating the connector. It's referring to removing the connector from the A pillar holder which is probably a "pin-through-hole" mount. squeeze the pin and push it back through the hole. This should allow you to pull the connector away from the pillar slightly and give you more room to separate the wired connectors.

Which pin would we squeeze? I've taken both wiring harnesses off of that clip. It looks the handess has a clip inside the A-Pillar that's extended like a V. There's no way of getting a tool (picker?) in there to squeeze one side in without pulling the connector.

Any tips?

So do I understand you correctly that you removed the mated connectors from the pillar mount and you still can't get the connectors apart?

Correct. Difficult to pry the connector harness from the A-Pillar frame once the two connectors are disconnected. Any tips to help pull out the harness?
