While opening the drive door windows while the door is closed results in a scraping noise when the window is about 2/3 down. I noticed that this does not happen while the door is open, only while it is closed. So while I was in for inspection today I asked them to take a look at it, thinking it would be something like a harness or something and would be covered under warranty.
Apparently they are telling me that the door had been hyperextended and thus bending the framing. There is a small metal track inside that is scraping the window and that I need to take it to a body shop to have them look at it.
Whats boggling my mind is that seems opposite. If the door was opened too much, then that bar would bend inward not outward. They are saying it bent outward. About 6 months ago someone opened their door into this door and put a nice crease right down it. I had to take it into a shop to have it pulled out and painted. It would make more sense to me that the door was pushed inward thus moving the window near the bottom in a little more than it should be.
Does anyone have any opinions? Its quite annoying and I don't want to open the window as I don't want to scratch it.
