Driver Side Lean Question/Opinion

Over the weekend I installed a spacer in the rear to help correct my driver side lean where the driver rear side was approximately 7/8" lower than the passenger rear. I installed a 1" spacer on the driver side rear. After installation, the driver rear is still 1/2" lower than the passenger rear, but both are now approximately 1/2" higher all together.

My questions are:

1. Will the rear go through another settling period like I had after installing new rear springs?

Or

2. Should I have installed a larger spacer (which I already have)?

Most add a 1.5" daystar to correct lean.

From the reading I've done it seems most people install the spacer on the front drivers side, not sure if that makes a difference in your case or not.

Correct. I couldn't do that on mine at the time, too much axle bind with my lift. Now that I have OME struts, I did add the 5mm in it.
I used a rear 1 3/8 rear spacer to not look too bad. Now I'm perfect.


I was too close with 3" lift before so not top hat spacer.

I Feel your pain. I installed the Toytec Ultimate lift and didn't want to crank the driver side too high (2.5 inch preset from factory). The rears have a 2 inch lift over stock. On the driver side my 4Runner literally leaned over 1 inch on the front and rear.

Added a 1 inch spacer in the rear and 1/4 spacer in the front, Now she sits close to even depending on load.

***I have a spare 1 inch alloy spacer for the rear if anyone is interested. Only sold in pairs so I ended up using one.
