My '99 Ltd has had a problem with the drivers side door lock for over a year. Only opens manually(with key) and will not lock or unlock with keyless. You can hear clicking when you hit remote or togle but no movement up or down.
Please help....this is driving me crazy.

First thing to do is remove the door panel and take a look inside. Make sure all the metal rods are still connnected. Move stuff by hand to get an idea what goes where...
move the lock up and down, follow the rod...make sure it is still connnected.
Hit the lock button while touching the actuator. feel for vibrations to see if it is trying to move. If not, it may be electrical.

When I got my '99, the passenger side did the same thing. Ended up swapping out the entire unit from my parts truck in the back yard. Works great now.

HELP... and hello everyone!

I'm having a very similar problem with my '01 LTD, except that both my driver's side door and the door behind it only don't lock or unlock with the keyless remote about half of the time, and they don't seem to happen together.

The more annoying problem I think is connected to that is that my alarm will go off sometime (occasionally five minutes) after I try to lock the car or unlock it with the remote and one of the locks sticks. It's just embarrassing now. The only way I can keep it from going off is to manually lock the car.

My car alarm has always been super sensitive, almost from the day we drove it off the lot. I call it the poltergeist. But this new problem makes me want to disable the alarm altogether.

Any suggestions?

Having the same problem. My RF is having zero problems, but the other doors are hit or miss.

Has anyone else replaced the solenoids on their doors?

Thanks!
