Driver's seat

LTX4RUNNER

I just purchased a 2006 4runner and can't adjust the drivers seat tilt/angle. I noticed that it seems to be missing a knob and a lever. Does anyone else have a seat that looks like this?

I have an SR5. You can clearly see that a lever and a knob should be there. I ordered both from the dealer. But, I am just wondering...IF they are suppose to be there, why is there no hole in the leather. Clearly, the leather has not been replaced cause it is slightly worn from use. Also, even if the leather had been replaced, wouldn't you think the knobs would have been put back? I am going to talk to the service department when I pick up the knobs and see if they think this was a mistake from the factory. IF my seats didn't have adjustment options, then why would the hardware be there and almost poking through the leather? It doesn't make any sense. I did move the leather and adjusted the seat with pliers to get it right, so I know it can be adjusted.

I don't think it is after market leather. I have the original window sticker and leather was added. It only had 58k when I got it. I will check Edmunds. I do know that when I ordered the parts at the Stealership, it did show there to be 1 knob, and two levers.

Another thing...I wonder what it looks like behind the knobs. Can anyone take a pic for me? I am worried about just cutting a hole for the mounting surface to come through. Who knows if it will tear more after that.

As for whether or not the hardware needed to move the seat is there, it is not. It is not under the leather either. The rod and gears are all there, but not the knob or lever. I have already removed the leather there and adjusted the seat manually with pliers.

That's the thing...it has some wear. I think it came like that. Anyways...Would someone who has these same knobs take a picture of what the fabric looks like behind rotary knob and the one right next to it? I don't mean you have to remove it, but if I can just get an idea of how they cut the fabric. Thanks.
