Driver's Side Door Won't Lock!?

New to the boards. Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can offer.

I have a 2001 4Runner. A strange problem just started happening. When I use the remote to lock my doors, the system chirps, the passenger's side door and both back doors lock, but the driver's side door does not.

Same thing occurs when unlocking.

Interior loacking button doesn't work on driver's side door either.

The only way to lock the door is manually or with the key.

Any thoughts?

I would carefully remove the door panel and have a look. You might need one of those dental type automotive mirrors and a flashlight. Have someone operate the locks, it might be a loose clip and check the wires and electrical connections leading to the lock actuator.
