Drives fine, then after 4-5 miles it starts shaking / idling low ????

I bought new plugs, was going to change the plugs today, anyone have any ideas?

It drives perfect, then after a few miles it starts to shake, check engine light flashes, then disappears then it keeps shaking and idling low...

Get your CEL diagnosed..... I'm betting it's a faulty Fuel Injector....the code should say that it's a Cylinder Misfire in one of the cylinders (1,2,3,4,5, or 6).

I had the same symptoms, turned out to be a bad injector in Cylinder 1......

Yeah, I tried but AZ said they can only read the code while its on, and the code comes and goes... what did the fuel injector cost ya?

The ecu stores the codes in memory. Can they check stored codes?

That..... is a long story! HA HA HA! The short of it, I decided to get some from E-bay, replaced all 6 for the price of just one here locally. However, I ended up doing the job 5 times, because the seller sent me 2 bad sets of injectors, and I had other issues such as fuel leaks and such. I ended up only using one of the 6, and kept my 5 in there.

My truck would get the Flashing CEL and it would go away, but eventually it just stayed on. If it is one of your injectors, go to the Dealer or Part Store, get a quality unit and install it. Mine were Denso Refurbs, but the seller was a tool, and kept sending me faulty injectors.

At least with local people, you have a face to go with the parts, and if something goes wrong, and they try to jerk you around....you can punch him in the mouth! (don't recommend that....but I felt like doing that with the seller of my injectors).

Good luck with your repair. BTW, after doing the injector job 5 times, I can now do it in less than a couple of hours....

LOL thanks man and yeah I've dealt w/ the ebay turds before w/ a dead alternator lol... I just put new plugs, and I noticed 1 coil pack wasn't oem, so the previous owner obviously changed one, Im gonna see how this works if not, I'll swap out all the injectors and go from there, I dumped some fuel treatment in, maybe that will alleviate the problem. :frog::frog:

Update : While changing the plugs, I noticed one of the plug wires was wrapped in electrical tape around the harness. I bought a wire set today from Autozone.. VOILA. Shes running perfect. New plugs, one new coil pack, new wires and shes like new. Glad I didnt have to drop money on fuel injectors.
