Drives like a truck!

I realize that the 4Runner is a truck so let's get that out of the way first.
I really like the 4Runner for many reasons. However after taking two test drives I found that I needed to constantly make minor corrections to the steering as I was driving it. I drove the SR5 model. I know the Limited has a different supension but I can"t afford that model. Are there any changes that can be made to make the SR5 feel more planted?

Is it bone stock or does it have bigger tires, suspension lift, etc ?
2WD or 4WD?

3. Better Tires (Check out Cooper AT/3s)

Note: after driving my wife's 2006 GX470 Sport with KDSS, I would say thicker swaybars, but I don't think those are out yet. They would help you keep your pants clean when taking corners at speed though, however they will have a negative impact on off road performance.

I've driven trucks. The 4Runner is nimble and changes direction quickly.

It does not drive like a truck.

I have been wanting this truck for over a year now and realized that I posed a similar question last year. I went back to that post and reviewed it. Lots of good info there about tires, Caster settings and suspension. I will talk to the dealer about changing the tires and adjusting the Caster seting. Now if I could only find my keys!

^^This!! I didn't think I could make my KDSS equipped runner handle any better than stock, but I recently added in 5100s and slightly stiffer springs all around and I have to say, it feels like a whole new truck, or should I say car

Handling is superb now through the corners, almost car like, lol.

Let me repeat what has already been said by the wise folks up front. Billies and FJ springs. BAM. Huge difference to how planted it feels. Still rolls in the corners, but let's apply the right standards when it comes to the handling department!

Ditto all the above just 51s & springs can make a world of difference ! At3s also help IMO , the 5th seem to ride higher if that makes sense ? So hence tighting up the ride important .
