Driveshaft Clunk

Does anybody else have a driveshaft clunk when you come up to a stop sign?
I guess the driveshaft sticks to the tailshaft of the transmission and then releases when the drive line pressure is reduced at the stop sign.

What year is your 4runner?

Cliff Notes: a few clunks go away, others stay forever; no definitive fix from Toyota (but there is a definitive fix for the Lexus GX470).

In other words, if your 4runner has it, then you need to learn to live with it. You can oil the driveshaft which helps, but (for the most part) this is a temporarily fix for most folks.

My 2007 Limited did this.

Get under her, hit each of the zerks on the driveshaft about 4 times, hit the slip-yolk about 12 times and then drive it to excersice the yolks. You may have to go up and down some pretty aggressive dips to really get this done, but I bet you will solve your issue.

I did this a couple of years ago, and mine is as quiet as a church mouse.
