driveshaft lube, imagination, riding rough?

hey all, just wondering if anyone has any ideas, or similar experience.
got 25k on my 5th gen, love it. Been getting regular service intervals, but lately noticed what i think seems to be the truck riding a little rough, I'm not really sure how to explain it, i don't seem to notice it had higher speeds, more like when i started moving or am slowing down, but it's not just when applying the breaks. I can't imagine it's the breaks or tires this early anyway. it can sort of feel like a consistent knock, and it's more of a feeling than sound.
I was looking at the owners manual and noticed that it calls for the driveshaft to be lubed pretty regularly at service intervals, and according to my paperwork, i don't think that's been done yet, just oil changes, and a tire rotation.
Anyone think that could be the issue? or something else obvious?

I would get it to a shop/lift and check everything out. It could be something simple like a loose shock bolt or something else that is minor.

My guess is you still have the tires that came from the factory and if you have the Bridgestone duelers like I did then there is a good chance they are no longer balanced. I had to have the stealership rebalance mine 3 times in the 1st 25k before I replaced them with the Firestone Destination ATs, which I highly recommend by the way.

check to see what the dealership put in for tire pressure . I have always had incorrect pressures from the dealer no matter what i tell them , have always check and readjust them when i get home. I also switched my stock Bridgestone H/L tires at 600 miles and went with Firestone Destination AT's . I only have about 1200 miles on them but what an improvement. I would recommend these tires to , look great so far (even though they are still new) much better ride and traction in snow for me .

As far as that feeling goes . Yes the driveshaft may need some lube and from my experiences for years on my 4th gen the dealer DOES NOT do that unless I demanded it . They even insisted to me on my 4th gen that there is only 1 grease fitting and there are actually 6 or 7 i think . I do not know how many on the 5th gen though . you could try a search in the 4th gen forum on the rear end clunk or driveshaft clunk. Maybe thats what you feeling. Im not sure .

I would get it checked out by the dealer anyway , but it's good to be informed since the dealers are not.

IIRC there are 6 grease fittings on the new 5th gen (for the 4WD) they are all along the driveline.

cool thanks a lot everyone, i plan to eventually try to do the lube job myself once i get the right grease etc... and just an update for anyone interested...
i took it in for service, they couldn't duplicate the problem, but it had actually warmed up the last couple of days, and i hadn't noticed it as much anyway (but that could be a coincidence)

...they inspected it, and didn't seem to notice anything wrong, but went and lubed it up per my request.

Yes, see my thread for an explanation as to what was happening and how it was repaired. Again, sounds like you need a new front diff since mine would stop making the noise whenever it would be warmer outside. Lubing is not going to make the problem go away.

awesome, thanks, reading this again, and now i am noticing that temp really might seem to be part of the difference.
