My '01 SR5 4X4 hit a patch of ice last weekend and got a little lose. Previously, when that would happen the VSC would beep and light up on the dash and control any sliding or skid.
I am sure that the failure of the VSC to initialize has something to do with my recent maintenance. I did timing belt, plugs and wires and throttle body service. Shortly thereafter the VSC OFF and CEL came on. I took it back to the shop and they read an exhaust error code. They quickly cleaned the airflow sensor and reset the codes. 500 miles later, and the lights have all remained off and the truck is running great. However, I noticed the the VSC did not activate properly when tested on slick roads last weekend. (although the VSC OFF light is NOT illuminated).
For you experts out there, is there any reason why the VSC would remain disabled after the codes were reset? Is there a way for me to manually turn it back on? Any other suggestions?
