Well yesterday I tackled two mods on the 4Runner. After I had got done doing an oil change I decided to follow J.A.'s writeup on how to perform the foglight mod with a slight twist. I was looking to get the ability to run my foglights while I have my parking lights on, but didn't like how his mod basically has the fogs on whenever the car is on (therefore I would have to remember to turn the fogs off during the day). I decided to remove my battery and splice into the power wire for the left side headlight marker light and run the wire up to the fog relay like he has in his writeup. Works great! Now they're off when the main light switch is off and on when the park lights are selected.
After I got that all buttoned up, I decided to head down to the dealer and get my DRL's turned off (can't stand them, personal pref.). Armed with the TSB on how to turn them off with the scanner, got that finally taken care of. That ended up costing me about $40 for like not even 10 min in the shop :bugeye:! But the way I saw it, the non DRL relay would've cost nearly as much, and I wanted to have the option of adding an LED signal relay down the road and not chance having things not work right when I do.
