Droid & Blue Tooth Streaming Audio

I recently discovered the Pandora app on my Motorola Droid and have decided I cannot live without it.

I'd like to be able to stream Pandora over the BT audio / nav in my '11 Ltd. The BT connects the phone no problems, but the BT tab on the Audio screen is un-selectable.

Do I need to re-pair the device? Is there an option during set up that will allow me to stream Pandora from my phone through the vehicle speakers via the BT connection?

I've tried to connect it with a USB to the port in the glove box and that was a no go.

Any experience you can share is appreciated. Thank

I've got a Limited / Nav running a Tmobile G2 (which is also Android) and also have had some minor issues getting things set up. Thankfully, all works fine now.

1) Easiest fix when the BT is having a bad day: use a $3 aux plug to go from your headphone jack on your phone to your AUX input near the 4x4 knob. It works just fine, but isn't as cool as the wireless BT function.

2) I'd recommend unpairing your phone so that you start from scratch. Make sure you pair both the phone and the audio parts. I forget how exactly that worked - but it was two different pairings. Just because the BT says it's connected, doesn't mean it's connected properly to both phone AND audio.

Mine worked great when I first got the truck - apparently I set up both features properly. For some reason the settings got screwed up and I couldn't get the audio to work for a while until I cleared everything out and started over from scratch. Thankfully it's been working fine since then.

I'm sure some of our audio experts will chime in with a more exact description, or do a search for some of the old android threads and you'll find where we talked about this same topic before in detail.

Thanks. I did search first and turned up a bunch of iPhone posts, but nothing Droid specific.

sometimes my iPhone wont connect to my car. I think i didn't have the "iPod" app running in the background is why it wont connect. Usually i just open the iPod app and then the bluetooth kicks in.

I actually haven't paired my iPHone to my car yet either. I've only paired the blue tooth audio streaming function.

Still really cool features. I hope you get your droid working.

Like the other dude said, worst case is you go to radio shack and pick up a "mini jack" to "mini jack" cable. they are like $5.00 as a backup.

Sounds like you have you need to connect your phone as a BT Audio device. You will need to go to the audio menu and settings to set up your BT accordingly. It is in the manual in case you get stuck.

To get my iPhone to work with both calls and bluetooth audio, I had to set the pairing codes to the same. When your in the NAV menu, touch SETUP - > AUDIO - > BLUETOOTH PORTABLE PLAYER - > Set the "pairing code" there to the default (i believe its 1212) instead of whatever it is. Now just choose to connect the bluetooth player. It works flawlessly on my iPhone now, it was odd that there was a different code to pair the phone anda different code for the player. I just know this worked for me so it should work on your device.

Thanks for the help...I got it figured out. Had to pair the BT audio separate, with a separate device code.

The technology that this represents is truly amazing. It's remarkable how far we've come in such a short time.

Just imagine what the world will be like in another 50 years!!!

I know. I was saying the same thing to my wife the other day. If you told me, when I started college in 2001, that I'd be able to download music to my phone while driving down the road and it wirelessly sending that song to my stereo, I'd have not believed it. I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to not having a smart phone. It is just so convenient all the time. Instant info on damn near anything you can think of.
