Hey guys,
I've done some searching and most answers seem to relate to newer T4R's so I figured I'd post my 3rd Gen question.
I have a 98 SR5 with the stock speakers, HU upgraded to Alpine CDA-9885. Not sure if its the regular system or the upgraded system for that model year but its got 6 speakers. I don't plan on having this car forever and use the cargo area quite a bit for hauling stuff so I don't really want to add a sub. I'm hoping to find some speakers for the front (and maybe back too) that will give a well rounded sound without completely losing the lows.
I've read some good things about the Polk db651s and a friend told me to check out Boston Acoustics. Seems my gen needs a shallow mount speaker in front so it limits my options.
So with that all said, if I planned in using the Alpine's internal amp and just got speakers, what would you guys recommend? Has anybody done a similar uprade?
