Drove with parking brake on

My girlfriend drove my 06 about 7 miles at 55mph with the parking brake lightly on
It's been an hour and the calipers are still warm/ borderline hot and I can still smell burning
Are my brakes shot, is t safe to drive normally or do I need to do immediate maintenance?

You're fine to drive the vehicle. The Parking Brake Shoes are probably fairly glazed. But you should be fine, parking brake may need more force to hold the vehicle/may need to be adjusted tighter now. Just disengage the parking brake when you drive next time.

I agree, you'll be fine, on Thanksgivings day I had a brake line break and I had no brakes what so ever, nothing was open to get the parts to repair my T4R, was 90 miles from home and drove all the way there only using deceleration, downshifting and then the parking brake to stop when necessary at stop signs and traffic lights, etc., by the time I made it home the parking brake was rather hot and I could smell the linings from the heat buildup, drove it another 8 miles the next day to my shop and get my work van to go and get parts to do the repair.

My parking is working fine now, holds well but probably needs some adjusting, but I will wait and just replace everything when I have to do the rear brakes in the future since the only time I will need to parking brake is when parking on a incline or for the rare emergency as on that Thanksgiving day!

Your rear disk brakes and the parking brake use different fiction parts to do their job so it didn't affect your normal brakes what so ever.

if you need you parking brakes to work properly (standard tranny) then yes you need to replace the glazed shoes or they wont work right.

your parking brakes will not hold correctly until they are replaced, let that be your decision maker, do you need a parking brake or not?
