I'm glad to see this still going. My son was only 3 months old when I posted this. He is now 3 years old with a 17 month old little brother. We spend every warm weekend on the water and I think about the information above everytime.
Seems legit, thanks for finding a source.
I'm glad you kept this alive.
This is the stuff of nightmares. It was hard to read, but it is a necessary reminder of how easily the unthinkable can happen. Thanks for sharing, man.
I don't remember now, but I most likely saw it on TheMalibuCrew.com.good post, where did you source that from?
4Run4YourLife,
Thanks for posting. Good stuff.

The source seems to be the first link which references a collaborative source at the second.

Bumpity bump as a reminder and for anyone new who hasn't seen this before!
I'm glad you kept this alive.
Reading this article brought back some horrific memories for me. I can't emphasize this enough. I was cleaning our pool one afternoon and my then 3yr old son was driving his pedal car around the pool. I was brushing down the walls when I heard our 13 yr old springer spaniel barking. I thought, "that's odd",she hasn't barked in a long time cause her voice had gone. I glanced over and she was leaned over the far end looking as if she were about to jump in. She looks at me, looks back at the pool, forces out a hoarse bark, looks back at me. It was then I realized I didn't see my boy. Then it just clicked. Mind u this whole process took a few seconds. I ran to the deep end and caught a glimpse of color as I approached. The color of the pedal car! I dove in and there he was standing upright on the bottom, arms stretched upwards, staring straight up. I got him to the surface and he puked water in my face and coughed. I knew he was going to be ok. After that I broke down and cried. I was shaking like a leaf. It had happened right under my nose. Silently. Quickly. If it weren't for our beloved dog... I don't even want to go there. As I write this I'm tearing up. It was a near tragedy. We prided ourselves on being ultra vigilant. Never leaving the boys unattended for even ONE second. And yet it almost happened. Please, please, please be vigilant! Especially with little boys! They slip outside, they stack stuff to climb over pool fences! As a part-time pool tech I saw it all.
