definitely ignore the first post/link. It is antiquated and unnecessarily complex. The 2nd link is all you need.

So while following these directions should I ignore that the write up was done on an 07 with XREAS? With consideration that mine is an 05 with XREAS?

I'm assuming nothing changed with the suspension from 05 to 07?

Thanks for the link!

Agreed, 2nd link is all needed, I also eliminated the step of loosening the LCA. Just push it down you may have to lean on the caliper some to push down enough, but it works.

I have done this several times and that link is exactly how I have done this 4 times.

Ignore, Xreas is Xreas, all parts are the same

When eliminating this step; will it still require a 4 wheel alignment?

So I attempted to do the lift myself; I just got spooked at this point in the instructions as shown in the picture, I am to remove these 3 nuts.

Problem was that when I do (in my mind), isnt there pressure under just waiting to be released when the nuts are off? :jaw drop:

Problem 2 was does anyone have pictures of all 4 DS 1.5/ 2.5 pieces installed? I'd like to see what they look like close up after install.

Please and thanks! :thanks:

Loosening the 3 nuts will do nothing at all.. Those 3 hold the coil assembly into place. Don't be scared, nothing will fly out at you.. Look around there are tons of pics..

The single 17mm or 19mm above your arrows holds the coil assembly together, I would not suggest loosening that one lol..

1st page picture on left with the spacer is what it will look like

Thanks Sparky-I was a little spooked at it, and I think my Dad was a contributor to the fear.

Theoretically when I loosen all that the directions here call for this is just to gain wiggle room to add the spacer?

your link didnt work, "wiggle room" is gonna be harder than it sounds, but you will figure it out.. And remember nothing is gonna fly out or attack..

Hey Malicious,

I just did mine yesterday. 04 LIM with XREAS.

first drop from skip pan off truck.

next jack front up, both sides. on jack stands up front. tires off.

next drop sway bar off truck. yep, take it completely off.
easy.

next undue those 3 nuts on top, not bad. 14mm.

next undue lower strut bolt, set aside.

then unbolt bottom lower control arm/ball joint to spindle, two nice 19mm bolts. 1/2 socket and breaker bar with cheater makes it easy.

now you can have buddy/or wife in my case, push down on lower control arm with cheater bar, I have a six foot iron bar to cheat the lower control arm down, strut comes out of place and move it around with the line still hooked to it, you jog it around but will find a happy place to set it and attach 3 new studs and poly spacer. Re install with new hardware up top. old shock bolt on bottom.

you will need to jack up lower control arm to get the lower ball joint to be near the LCA to start the two 19mm bolts. easy, just go slow to not allieve the pressure on the jack stand when jacking up on the LCA.

so then 3 nuts are on, shock bolt is on and nut tightened, LCA bolts on and tight. then so the same on the other side.

then put sway bar back on, skip plate.

1/2 impact helps, but you dont have to have one by any means. PB blaster here and there as well. I use a little moly grease and anti sieze with all hardware going back on the car. just habit for me, makes it easier if there is a next time and protects a little from Corrosion.

rear is easy, but spring compressors make putting springs back in place a lot safer and faster. no matter how much you push down on the axle it was not easy to get the spring in the pocket and on the cup on axle with out almost killing my self with a pry bar and lots of swearing. then I just compressed the springs with cheap autozone spring compressor, dont have to compress to far, and then presto! in they went. hook up panhard bar, trick is to have wife with large flat blade pry at panhard bar on opposite side to push on the bushing to give you that extra 2mm you need to get the bolt back in the bar. also jack the axle up pretty good on the drivers side. then rear shock lower bolts and you are now complete.

I took my time. it ate up all afternoon. Wife helped me with the prying and tool fetching. priceless. couldnt be happier. ride is nice, looks are awesome. just waitin on my Spidertrax now.

hope it helps, its not a bad job. it was actually kinda fun.

Champ- I appreciate the detail buddy. Looks like it wasn't too bad, I imagine the first one was the toughest/longest for obvious reasons.

So you're saying a spring compressor makes it easier or is it required to do the back ones? Is it possible for you to snap a pic so I can see where it sits after its all said and done?

I didn't use a spring compressor...just took off the rear shock and the panhard bar (that centers the axle. I took off the rear sway bar links on either side too. From there I just had a buddy stand on the rotor and it was pretty easy to wiggle the spring out...

Setty good point wish rear swaybar. I left it hookedup. I had spring compressors so I used them. Figure easier than fighting with it.

Sorry I don't have any pics. Might be able to get some this weekend.
