Dual Exhaust

Anyone else wonder why the V8 runners don't have dual exhaust? I saw a new Pilot with dual exhaust and it looked sweet. (The exhaust that is.)

I've seen a few 4runners that have a dual exhaust on either this site or maybe cardomain.com. Looked sweet as hell!!!It was a mod done after the bought it.

You can have side exiting exhausts behind the rear wheels with a TRD or Borla exhaust system. A few members have it here.

On a side note if there are dual exhuasts that exit out the rear, it would mean there are two pipes and resonators to smash when wheeling and two tailpipes to have the muffler shop mod to exit out the side.

It might get there one day, since the 5th gen Camry's didn't have it, but previous gen Accord did and now the 6th gen Camry has dual exhaust. Only time will tell.

It could be because dual exhaust on most vehicles these days is for looks (as you pointed out on the Honda) and does not enhance performance. Any small performance gains would probably be offeset by the extra weight.
