So, I'm trying to decide whether or not to either get 20's or get a lift and new tires...Does anyone know the price of a 2.5" lift kit?
If I were you I'd go with the lift. Most of the time 4runner's and 20's don't look right.
Go with a 3" lift and 285's and not only will your 4runner look better than most of the vehicles on the road it will also perform better. This is especially true on campus. I see so many pieces of crap.

Other then the advantages of off-roading, what exactly will perfom better? Correct me if I'm wrong but lifted trucks and bigger tires tend to work against performance, and put more wear and tear on other parts. If you can't decide to either lift it or put on street rims, then maybe you should sit on it for awhile.
Before I could say either way I would need to know more about how you intend to use your vehicle. Do you ever take it off-road? If not then get the DUBS and clear corners and dress it up real nice. I think FO-SHEEZY on here has done his vehicles with the larger wheel and it has looked real good. To me it is all about usage and personal preference and whatis going to work best for your application. I am a lift it and put some AT's person but that suits my use the best and i agree with the Toytec recommendation if you choose to lift it.
CUgreekballer,
Lift...without a doubt!!

Im not against the big rims but I like the lift look more. You put a small lift on with some 265/75 and get a nice set of rims and keep your truck clean. Thats what id do. Maybe get the KMC Hoss rims in black with a good set of a/t and then get on yotatech and theres a guy selling pp springs and bilstein shocks for 350. Id pick that up. Keep us updated.
