Duratrac wear

I have a 2000 limited 4x4, brand new ome full lift, 285/75/16 duratracs. The tires have 700 miles on them and seem to be wearing unevenly in the front. Rears look brand new. Alignment was done after lift but before tires. Running about 36-37 psi cold. Stock rims.

its hard to tell in that picture since it is so close but it looks like maybe feathering? try this link HOW TO READ TIRE WEAR

It's just the outer edges of each tread block. Te sharp edge is worn off on the outer edge. Kind of lame for 700 miles.

Those are e-rated tires, 36-37 cold isn't enough tire pressure, but it would be fine if they were c-rated. Up the tire pressure and see how they wear.

Ok I'll try raising te pressure. I read mixed things about e rated pressure, some said to leave it closer to factory tire pressure.

i always run load range E tires and do a chalk test and have never had any problems. i tried explaining this in another thread but know one gets it….

FYI, the load rating has nothing to do with tire pressure. A C, D or E will require the same psi to carry the same weight. The difference is that the D can carry more weight and will require more psi to do so. The E, same but more still. Larger tires require less psi to carry the same weight.

Also LTs require more psi than a P series tire to carry the same weight.

its possible but on an 12 year old truck it could be a worn suspension part. but since air is relatively free why not start with tire pressure?

Could be toe is out of spec but camber is right on. Id have it re-aligned and get it done under the warranty from the first alignment.

Rotate the tires also.

Do you think this could just be the nature of soft compound tires when cornering? Especially since the front tires positive camber when turning with a lift. I corner very slow usually for this reason.

Hopefully not, I'd be lucky to get 5k out of these...

Its not the tires themselves. Many people have had good luck with how the Duratracs wear. Check alignment.

Run 38-40 PSI in the fronts and 36-37 in the rear.

I'm not positive, but I think mine might look like that.
