Duratrac's coming...

I've been on my Duratracs for almost 16 months/11k miles and in my 2nd winter these tires are keeping me happy. They've also been very solid off road and endured some rough stuff on a couple of camping trips last summer.

I have a OME 3 inch lift running the 265/75/16 Class C Duratracs, and have been thrilled with them. Haven't gotten close to getting stuck in the winter were having here in Philly. Haven't takin them off road yet. Even with the lift, they look great. No one has ever said those tires look wimpy on that thing! haha.

agreed, i am running a 265 70 17, and have absolutely no rub what so ever, even at full lock and full flex, and i still have my factory running boards attached. ive thought of going with a 285 next time, still kinda tossing the idea around

I'm running 265/75/16 Firestone Destination AT's on my 2000 4Runner Highlander. They rubbed really bad with the running boards on. I took the running boards off, and they still rub when near full lock / barely any flex (turning into parking lots where there's a slight change in road height).

I'm assuming you meant 275/75/16, but we're talking about 265/75/16's. Your tires are a bit wider, and a bit taller than the ones I'm looking at, so that could explain the rubbing.
 
i just got my duratracs, just got mine the other day. replaced the general at2 i had on there before and i have noticed a big difference. the price on them was excellent too compared to other comparable tires i was looking at. i went 285/75r16

No, I'm talking about 265/75/16. It was just a late night typo(fixed).

I don't think there is a 275/75/16 though.

Well, here they are. They look awesome, and drive great. Unfortunately the dumb tire shop ignored my request for white letters in.

I am surprised how much they fill the wheel well. I definitely feel like I need a lift now.
 
Looks nice with the white letters out anyway..I think Duratracs are one of the better tires aside from BFG to sport that look....yeah get her lifted and straighten out that licence plate pls?:biggrin2:
 
Just to clear up the little disagreement about problems with rubbing with this size, can you let us know if you experience any? I have a stock '00 limited and am planning to buy a set of 265/75/16 Duratracs in a few months. My current set of Wranglers are long in the tooth and I'm trying to embark on a mod-fest, but I'm not ready for the lift yet. Thanks!!
 
Good choice. Haven't used them but have seen them in action, and they perform very well from what I witnessed:

Tires look good Nelson! I probably would have waited to lift it first, before buying a set....but they definately look great with the stance you have now! I had 265's on my stock suspension, and liked it! BTW, your rig looks sweet!
 
curious what is the gain for getting 265-75-16 over the stock 70's?

I understand there taller by a little, but as I was looking at my 00 I am not sure I want to get a bigger taller tires.
I plan on a spring lift like 2 inches, at that time I think I would be ok, but I think I would rub if I got the 75's.

Unless you're seriously sagging at all four corners, 265/75's should fit with zero lift and zero rubbing issues. This applies to probably 98% of 265/75's - I believe some people have had BFG's rub slightly because of the tread pattern.
