DVD/TV on NAV screen

I am a new owner and would like to get DVD display on the NAV screen. I have spent many hours(too many) going through all the posts both here and at the Lexus forums. I know there are units out there like navtv but I'm thinking that this approach may work and I would like to have any input before I go and buy anything.

These two units have VGA(RGBS) input and output. and a composite or svideo input. Couldn't you splice this between your nav unit and HU on the RGBS lines. The VGA pass through should allow the nav to work when the unit is off and then pass the composite signal to the display when on.

I created THIS thread about several mods I want to do to my Nav. Mine's a 03 but I think they are mostly the same. My last post (as of now) is about www.nav-tv.com They say they can do it. I emailed them some questions and apparently they are based in florida and are having huricane troubles. They said I could call with questions, but their email is temporarily done.

I haven't heard of the items you linked yet and I don't really understand if they are right for us?

I sent them an email today too. It seems like their system will work but I thought I read somewhere that it costs like $300. The ones I'm talking about cost $100 and have TV tuner built in. There's a thread on Club Lexus

where a guy hooked his Xbox to the screen. He used a relay and another kind of converter so I know it's possible.
