I have personally not used them, but I would not recommend them. With every vehicle I have ever owned, everyone says to get OEM replacements. I tried some bosch platinum 4's in my accord and about 2 months later had to get a new O2 sensor and new cat. I've got IK22's now because of the supercharger, but had factory platinum replacements before that. If the E3's where proven to be that much more beneficial, then I figured all the car companies would be using them in their vehicles...but they don't...

I would not go there IMHO, but if you want to be the lab rat, go right ahead.
I have a friend who ran them in his Silverado, good up to 10,000 miles, then the truck began to idle erratically. Popped in some AC Delcos and all was good.
I would say E3 plugs are in the same ballpark as Splitfire plugs.

I've heard some bad things about the E3s...I wasn't even sure they were still being made.
Stick with the NGKs, ESPECIALLY in the 5VZ motor...the dual ground NGK part number is specific to the VZ engine, no other engine uses that plug, it's VZ family exclusive. I'd assume for a reason.
Or a slightly higher quality Denso plug if you want what the engine was built from.

I'm all for NGK's and ****, but seriously, if you haven't tried them, quit wasting our threadspace with how he should go OEM.
He asked a question about if you've used them, not if you like NGK's
Friend of mine used them in his Turbo'd Mazda and he loves them.
I'm sure a 2.2 turbo'd motor at 16 PSI would require a little more out of it's plugs than some 3.4 liter V6 in an SUV
I'd try them if I didn't already get new plugs just last month, but you should go ahead and be the man who finally puts this myth to rest about the E3 plugs in a 4Runner.

Don't mean to knock on some of the eariler post but I just put the e3's in my truck and I can feel a difference. I put them in this weekend so I can't report on mpg but i defiantly feel more power. Even if it isn't proven it just feels like its running better.

I had them (E3) just recently for 2 weeks and bought NGKs. Amazing the difference. E3's are worthless!

We're talking about VZ engines, not RZ engines...the E3's suck in the VZ.
You would've felt a huge difference with any spark plug change if you haven't changed them out in a while. Give them a few miles.

haha.... I know you made your decision but I just want to reiterate there is no reason to change up a good thing. If we all know the NGK's work very well with our engines then there is no point to question anything else, the choice should be clear
