E-Rated tire questions and concerns

I am looking at buying a set of the AT-S tires and I am thinking about going with the E-load tire because they don`t offer a C-load. I have been doing some reading on here but I would still like to hear some opinions or comments. I will see some easy off road trails(sharp rocks, dirt) and will also use the truck for towing a 3000lb pop-up camper on vacations. The truck is also used for commuting to work by my wife.

I do not mind if the ride is firmed up a little, but I don`t want it to ride like an
old empty F-350.

I would just like to hear feedback from the members who have, or had E-rated tires on thier 2010 4Runners. I am looking to buy the tires asap, because I have a co-worker who is going to buy my oem tires.

I have the same type tires on my Subaru Outback and they have been great, and they are a good bargin. I almost forgot, my 2010 4Runner is an SR5.

Put my Revos E rated on last Friday and extremely pleased...running I think 80 lbs.

Dramatically changed the ride..cant believe it's the same truck.

Got 4 275/70/17 BFGs sittin' in my garage stinkin' it up with that new rubber smell! Rims in transit right now. It is killing me to see them NOT on the truck!!!!!!

Thanks for the reply! I really like this tire but my concerns are the ride, which seems to be a non-issue with the soft suspension on the SR5, and the extra rotating mass (13lbs each over OEM). I don`t want to kill the gas mileage or performance of my new truck with an extra 52lbs of rotational mass, that seems like a lot to me.

My other choice is the Firestone Destination AT (C-load rating).

I want to order the tires tomorrow, but I don`t want to regret a wrong purchase.

i really like my E Duratracs. probably took a little hit on mpg, but they were on it when i picked it up so i can't say for sure. sounds to me if you're towing and going off-road the Es will suit you fine.

I have E-Rated Firestone Destination M/T's. They are the stock size, but yes they do weigh more and I did take a small hit with Mileage. I have been running 35-40 psi cold in them on the street. Off road I have only taken them down to 30psi so far. They ride great and do really well off-road. Since E-Rated tires have quite a few sidewalls, in order to get decent flex off-road, I should probably let more air out.

TitanPat57, you're running 80psi, dang. Whats the max for your tires? I think mine is 80psi max.

I have E-Rated Duratracs because I load a lot of gear in the back for trips. I run them at 44 psi (cold) when I am not carrying that load, and up to 50 psi (cold) with the load. I have zero handling problems. Off-road I air down to 30, maybe 25 on sand. In the end, they are just designed to carry more weight and have stiffer sidewalls than their c-rated counterparts or passenger tires.

80 psi? How much weight have you added?
