E7007 in 07 4Runner

I recently purchased a E7007 for my 07 4Runner with single disc player without JBL and steering wheel controls.

The unit I purchased came with the head unit, JBL amp, wiring harness, antenna, and a microphone. Since this was used I wanted to temporarily hook everythng up to test it all and make sure it worked before doing a final install. All of the harnesses hooked up and integrating the JBL amp worked great.

In checking things out further my phone will sync up via blue tooth, but I don't get any phone conversation sound out of the car speakers nor does the microphone seem to work. The HU will mute the radio so it seems like its trying to playback the phone conversation. I haven't messed around with the NAV much, but I assume the voice prompts will not work.


I have not hooked up the speed or reverse sensor wires, so I am not sure if this would have an affect on the blue tooth and NAV prompts or not. In doing some browsing on the forum it also looks like i need the activation switch, but not sure if this is having and affect as well.


Any help would be greatly appreciated as most of this is working.

I have an E7007 installed on my non-JBL 2003 SR5 and did the wiring for the microphone myself.

It sounds like the mic isn't hooked up correctly. I've attached the wiring for the microphone from someone on the Tundra forums. I used these diagrams to wire up my mic.

You don't really need the activation switch, I can pretty much control everything via touch screen without using the steering controls (I usually forget I have the phone controls on the steering wheel).

I have checked my microphone connections and initially I thought it was wired wrong because of the wire colors but after dissecting the R10 connector I have determined this is wired correctly.

Any other thoughts?

I figured out the audio issue. I was missing the wires from the R13 port of the HU to the S22 port on the JBL amp. I temporarily hooked these connections up and can hear blue tooth conversations out of the drivers door speaker. I assume with this working that voice guidance should work with the speed/reverse wires connected.

Does anyone know the part number for the pins to use in the R13 connector? I don't want to have to rig these connections.


I have used the search function and can't seem to find a good source to where to locate the speed and reverse wires. The posts seem to be really old or make taps at odd locations such as behind the instrument cluster or the rear brake light. Does someone have an updated good source for where to get these taps.

What have you guy been using to connect these wires at the back of the HU without the connector? Does anyone know this part number or have you been making these connections directly into the back of the HU?

No idea on where to get the pins for the connectors. Mine came as a kit from Canada that had all the wires and pins ready to plug in (mostly). You can try seeing if a Canadian dealer will ship you the pre-made wires for the voice output wires.

As for tapping into the speed/reverse wires. I tapped into the wire block behind the AC controls for the speed and behind the passenger's kick panel for the reverse wire.

Note the picture on the right is different because of the RS3200+ VIP alarm system. If you have it installed, just follow it to the original connector shown on the left.

I can't seem to find a picture of the center console where the speed wires are located. I'll see if I can dig them up after I'm done with finals.

Thanks for the help, and if you happen to fin those pictures please post. I called a local dealer and the guy i spoke with wasn't helpful as far as the pins were concerned so I am gong to try a local Car Audio store to see if they can help out.

If I can get the pins figured out and location of the speed/reverse wires I can get the installation completed this weekend.
