Catalina council

Originally part of 293 but was part of a cool trip in 2001 with a big group from southern Az, for the national jamboree in the dc area, troop 2011!

First of all I am not affiliated with the Boy Scouts but I found your comment interesting. I was in DC in 2001 and I remember there were boy scouts everywhere. I think I remember seeing a lot of trading going on with the badges. After DC we went to NYC and went to WTC among other things.

Yeah there were over 50k at the actual event, I only traded like one patch, I was more interested in skating DC.

Troop 90, Newport Beach CA, attained August 7th 2002, Eagle #34 at the time (just over 200 now, yikes). Later that August was our troops first trip to Philmont in a long time. My best friend and I had a small eagle court of honor on the Tooth of Time - not on top, because I was suffering from dehydration. Maybe the worst/ most memorable backpacking trip ever.

Don't eat the "eggs" before you leave for your long term hike.

Ooo Philmont.....G status right there. I never got a chance to go there but herd stories from older kids in our troop

Always wanted to go to Philmont but I never did.

The only good belt I have is my leather belt that I bought at the Philmont store. I'd say almost daily use for the last 14 years! Glad I got a 38" belt too instead of the 30" i wore at the time

Troop 846 in Cypress, Texas.

I earned my Eagle Scout in September 2001.

Highlight of my scouting career was Philmont Scout Ranch in 2001. We did 110 miles in 11 days!!!

Summer camps i remember going to included: Pioneer in Arkansa, Constantine in North Texas, Buffalo Trails in West Texas.

Winter camps included: Strake near Houston and Edgewood in Louisiana.

I think I was a 28 at the time we did Philmont but I do have the buckle on a Mountain Khaki belt and wear it on weekends. Three of us attained Eagle at the same time and were the first three ever for our troop. We all three went to Philmont together with our Dads. It was a great trip that I will never forget. I still have the branded boots in a box in my basement.
