I had some plans get canceled this weekend and realize the East Coast 4Runner Jamboree is happening at AOAA (next to Rausch Creek).

Shame I have to work. I’m just south of there around 30 miles down 81.

I rode my CR500 dirt bike all over that entire region and my Cummins has been on most trails it would fit on.

I sure you will. Lots of rocks in that entire valley. Well, actually that’s the middle valley I dirt biked on. There is rocks everywhere

Bump to the top, sounds like fun-

I ended up waking up at the crack of dawn Saturday and driving out to AOAA for the jamboree to get there by 9am - and I'm glad I did, it was a blast!

I met up with the group that was organizing it Hilux Surf Offroad (HiLuxSurf Off Road Public Group | Facebook) and although I didn't know anybody, they were quick to graciously invite me along with a group of 8 or 9 of us mostly 3rd gens to run trails.

I'm somewhere up there near the front:

The trip and group were great. We got acclimated on greens, then advanced to blues.

Me and this big guy broke off from the group and ran mostly blue trails (medium), with a test on a black trail (difficult).

We also had the lone Range Rover in the group join us on the black trail, he promptly blew out his front diff, so we got to spend 2 hours winching to get him turned around so he could drive back out of the trail. That was fun.

The trails there are TIGHT, I kissed a few trees, and had a few close calls with rocks - it's definitely time to invest in some sliders and upgraded skids - esp. for that rear diff. Probably could also step up a few inches from the 891's in the back.

The King coilovers in the front were awesome, you can see in the videos they're absorbing a ton of impact and riding nice and soft. I'm very happy with the performance of the suspension all around, even in off-camber situations it did great.

I'd love to get back out there soon after I get some armor on this puppy.
