If someone could take 2 mins to help me solve an issue I'm having I would be very grateful.

Please go out to your 4Runner and tell me if the 'A DOOR IS OPEN' light on the dash comes on if the lift gate (rear hatch) is open and all other doors are closed.
That's it, told you it was easy.

I was rear ended a few weeks ago and the moronic repair shop has really stuffed up some electrics and I have no faith in their ability to fix it, so I'm trouble shooting the issues myself. Whether or not this dash light comes on for just the lift gate will tell me something.

the 'a door is open' light is on when I open the rear boot when the doors are closed.

Mine doesn't come on, so now I know that the back door ecm is not communicating with the rest of the vehicle.

It was some chode in a Grand Cherokee in a hurry to get to a hockey game. Somehow didn't see two miles of stopped traffic, and plowed into the back of me, destroying his Jeep and denting my bumper and lift gate.
