Easy way to compare tires

Sorry all, but I'm a visual type of guy, I need to see what the product looks like before I purchase.
There have been many many talks of different tire brands, and all are great for research, but I like to see what it looks like on a 4runner. Not many 4runners in my neck of the woods, so I had a small dillema.

then,

while changing my oil at the local dealer, I decided to take a look at the '06s. And to my suprise, they not only come with Dunlops, but also BFG and Michellin.

I personally am sold on the Michellin look, and utilizing the reaseach from this forum, have cemented my desire to purchase them.


So,
If you are like me, and like to see what they look like on a 4runner, and not on a web site, or on the tire rack at a tire store, may I advise that you check out your toyota dealer.

Also, I've noticed that the 04 4runner 4x4 sport I purchase in upstate NY for 32K, the 06 version, exactly the same in every way except 2 years difference, costs 37K in Lower Alabama.

this is the one I like, though for some reason, in lower Alabama, I can't find 265/65 17, so after researching upsizing on this forum,I have decided to go with 265/70 17.
I ordered them from Samsclub.com, just because we don't have allot of choices in lower Alabama.

The look to me was what caught my eye. I'm tiread of the OWL look, outside white lettering, and the tred (to me) looked better than the BFGs. I also talked with many tire dealers in the area, before I decided to upsize, and they all agreed that for the money, you can't beat the Michellin Cross Terrain.

I will attach pics once I get them, but of course, it's always better to see the final product on a 4Runner in person.

Actually, there is quite a difference between an '04 and an '06 SportEdition 4x4. Enough so to justify the couple grand difference (taking inflation into account) in price.

I would say that now the wheel well looks filled, or should I say more tire than before. But I like the look

I kept one tire

I kept one of the Dunlop tires to make a tire swing for my son. He's very excited. You can tell the difference in this picture in the size, and tread pattern.

upsize

so, my upsizing was not as drastic as some posting I have seen.
I only went from original 265/65 R17 to 265/70 R17. I will stay at this size, and do not plan to go into 265/75 R17.
I'm very pleased with the look and the ride feel of these Michellin Cross Terrain. We've had some rain in lower Alabama, and the ride was quite comfortable. The price was $184 per tire as Sams Club, but after research, I belive I made a worth while investment in a great quality tire.

I just put some Revo Bridgestone AT's on my 4R yesterday, because I want to try them from all the rave's I've heard , but look's wise and white letter wise I think BFG AT/KO's look the best IMO.

I was thinking of geting those as well.
I've leaned toward all black tire, I get tired of cleaning the white lettering that gets dirty when my wife brushes up agains a curve from time to time.
