Ebay replica - TRD Pro Wheels

Personally....
I wouldn't trust my life on a set of ebay wheels that display the brand as:

Aftermarket Products

I purchased a set of TRD OEM wheels for 750.00.
YMMV

There are venders on site that you can buy a good TRD replacement wheel from...check them out.

cheap ebay rims are a great way to break a wheel on the trail, or even worse - have one come apart at speed on the interstate

The FN F/X Pro wheels are 17x8 width and comes with 24 single black spline drive lug nuts M12x1.5P plus the spline drive lug nut key. You will receive 60g of black Hofmann power weight strips. Dustin give us a discount, a T-shirt and the black lugs are free. These wheels are a bit less heavier by a 4-5 pounds each. I don't remember the off set. Great customer service and nice guy to do business with.
 
Everybody is assuming it is a crap product with no proof. With that said, you would have to be the guy who tests them to see if they are really crap or not. OEM and FN are the more reliable and proven options, but until someone tries these ebay wheels, we probably won't know if they are junk.

Isn't FN pro X a replica of the TRD as well? How do we know this not just a rebranded of that eBay replica TRD rims?

Just in the market of the TRD rims as well and tempted to go for the trd replica in amazon using cash back points. But I probably go for the OEM if I find good price. Is the FN pro x cheaper than the OEM TRD rims?

Ok.... every wheel discussed in this thread is made in Asia. Every one. The qualification comes down to the manufacturing process and final inspection.

Are they cast or forged?
Do they conduct stress tests?
What is the load rating per wheel?
Are the wheels put through an x-ray before leaving the plant?
Ask the seller about their insurance policy limit and warranty?

Guaranteed that the TRDP OEM wheels have passed all of tests.

Most aftermarket wheels are made overseas today. These are the questions you may want to ask of the vendors you are looking at.

I run Asian manufactured wheels on my vehicles. All of them. But I know all of them are from well known vendors which can answer the above questions.

Never trust anything that critical on a sketchy third party manufactured part. The inspection results are not worth the paper they are printed on. Buy proven, trusted parts.
 
Google UES or UCS whatever they have watermarked on the pictures and you get nothing. Would rather buy something that at the very least has a website. They don't even give you a manufacturer. " If the price seems to cheap" you know the rest. Buy from a reputable manufacturer. It's your and everybody else's life on the line.

When it comes to rims, I only buy OEM (buy a set of takeoffs from some rich T4R owner) because I don't have worry about fitment, offset, lug nuts, load rating and quality. Major issue with non OEM rims is that you just don't know if the quality is good or not. Rims may play a critical role in an offset crash to protect its occupants. To me $250 difference is not worth it. Just get the OEM rims then save on something not as critical.
