Ebay spacer made in USA

Just installed 1.25" hubcentric billet aluminium 6061-t6 wheel spacers; Just like the other mods I've done, it looks really nice but it seems to magnify any shimmy/vibrations & affect the ride quality adversely. A little steering wheel stake at 50-58mph now. At least I got to use my new tools, floor jack & jack stands. Torqued them down to 60, then 85 ft/lbs. Also used red threadlock. 85ft/lbs with the wheels too. Anyway, this is just another persons opinion; nothing that hasn't been covered already.

Joking Aside... the words "Ebay" and "Made in US" is usually a red flag. Not that "made in US" can't be good quality, but usually these days it's not because either the company is outsourcing materials/parts from overseas and assembling in the US for that moniker. Or they reduce quality/craftsmanship/materials to compete with overseas stuff.

Or they reduce quality/craftsmanship/materials to compete with overseas stuff.

I actually called the guy's who make them out in California & asked him a few questions; it seems legit. The product is high quality solid billet & they sent the correct style lug nuts. Just not really working in my application.

One other variable: I did also rotate my tires since I had them off, so I'm going to "unrotate" them to see if the shimmy goes away. Little rubbing on front mudflap & bumper with 275's/1.25" spacer too.

Sounds like you may have gotten from the same person I did. After all the reading on spacers, I was a bit nervous. When I got them I cleaned the surface well and used red locktite. Torqued them down, but started second guessing the really old torque wrench that I borrowed. So I went and bought a newer one and tore them all off and then re-torqued them. I've been wheeling and daily drive them now about 7k miles with no issues at all. Toyota dealer even did an alignment with them on. IMO, they were good quality, but I've never used any other company's.

Well I lifted, and added 275s at the same time, so I can't say if I noticed any change in maneuverability. I do not experience any death shake. My truck has always had a little wobble in the wheel between like 52 - 58 mph (before lift too) but It's actually very smooth above 60. I've had it higher and it's smooth too. I have stock UCAs so it's a bit twitchy at those speeds though.

Dawudih, can you please advise who was the eBay seller? To save others from the same headace. I just bought a set of spacers from an eBay store yesterday. They also claimed hubcentric, forged aluminum 6061-T6 with same font inscription on the side, but with black nuts, etc. Mine will arrive Friday, will install Sat., fingers crossing. Should have just rolled the dough for Spidertrax instead. Thanks.

They also claimed hubcentric, forged aluminum 6061-T6 with same font inscription on the side, but with black nuts, etc. Mine will arrive Friday, will install Sat., fingers crossing. Should have just rolled the dough for Spidertrax instead. Thanks.

The spacers are great quality, don't worry about that. They came with the correct extended thread nuts (you won't need the black ones). It's the nature of the spacers themselves. They seem to magnify any minor issues. Anyway, I un-rotated the wheels last night & the shimmy went away almost entirely. Once again, these are high quality spacers with the correct hardware.

I really don't know anything about spacers specifically, but it seems mathematically, that makes sense. You are extending the distance from your wheel to the source, thus any small off-balance angle would be more noticeable.

Went ahead & got the lifetime alignment with the local Firestone since I'll be changing up some stuff once in a while. Caster was increased from just over 2 to almost 3 on both sides. Camber also closer to zero. Rides a lot better & man it looks nice with those spacers & lift. 3 techs made comments about it & got involved trying to get it perfect. Couldn't let that go so went next door & got them a pizza. Make sure to use the silver (extended thread) nuts to install the wheel spacers & get at least 5-7 turns with them.

Iv'e been thinking about getting spacers to compensate for my positive offset, but people have told me it will shear my studs and mess up my car. Are they safe?
