ebay switchblade or retracting key

Hi i just want to know if anyone has the switchblade or retracting key for a 4gen t4r off of ebay. I also wanted to know if anyone know how much the dealer would charge to program and cut the key. Thanks in advance for the help

I have the switchblade from ebay but haven't gotten around to getting it to work. I got the key cut at a local locksmith AFTER I took it out of the housing because they couldn't cut it while it was in there.

The dealer wanted $50, I believe, to attempt to program the transponder. That's the part I haven't gotten around to it yet. The key itself (not the remote) works in opening up the back window. I also programmed the lock and unlock buttons with some help from the internet and those work. With the switchblade, you lose the panic function and the rear window down function, just something to think about it.

Overall, it is a pretty neat idea and takes up less room in your pocket. If you're into that kinda thing, which I am, then go for it. Plastic feels a little cheap but I think it should be sturdy enough for everyday use.

thanks for the info i might just buy the switchblade cause i like the way it looks as for the panic and rear window i am gonna install an aftermarket viper alarm in it so i hope i can program the rear window as well as the other window to roll down to eace:

So just to confirm, the eBay switchblade key for the 4Runners do have the transponder in them?

So has anyone actually gotten one of these keys to work, ie. the remote and key with immobilizer?

I have one for my 2003 Corvette and love it. It is more of a "novelty" item, but really cool.

Mine uses the exact same "board" from the OEM unit, just housed in the new case. Everything that the OEM unit did, this one does.\


BAD NEWS The company that manufactured mine is out of business.....or so they say on the Corvette Forum. Several people have sent them money but no product.
