EBC greenstuff

yes I want and plan to do the tundra brake upgrade before next fall
this is not a thread about if I should do the tundra brakes or not... I will
but for now rear springs and shocks are more demanding of my money

that said, the yota dealer did rotors and pads about 50k ago with previous owner I do not at this time have any warped rotors
I was very unhappy with brake fade ( new to me yota)
I adjusted rear brakes, which look like new, ( had new yota shoes at same time) and made a big difference in brakes....
but not to my full wants as I do lots of mountain driving ( I know ..do.tundra brakes)

so to get thorough the summer I ordered EBC greeenstuff that I had read on this forum and others are a good pad
Ive done lots of brakes in the past, but never this brand
I know the" traditional" way to seat new pads

however these greenstuffs have instructions and a break in surface on pad and instructions said to drive normal for 200 miles and then start doing power stops from 60 to 20 and do it 5 times

anyone with experience with these greenstuff pads
tempted to go seat them the "old" way
because within 25 miles of installing them, Ill be back on the mountain roads of the cascades

Don't have it in the runner but on my car I have green stuff and followed they're directions. Been really good so far. Dusty though.

Which trail you hitting? I just left north cascades memorial weekend

I currently have the EBC green stuff on my 4Runner. I didnt follow the break in procedures and have been very pleased with them, great stopping power. I originally installed them with the EBC slotted rotors but warped them so I now have OEM equivalent Bosch rotors. I just converted my wheels to 16 inch and plan on doing the Tundra brake upgrade before winter. I lost a bit of braking efficiency due to the taller tires on the larger rims.

not sure which trails, I work at clear lake resort, and do lots of driving and exploring logging roads in the area when I have time. nothing big and major like many others hit

been happy with them so far, been bedding them in gently, but after a short road trip later today, ill panic stop them a few times

head back to work (and the mountains) tomorrow

follow up
with 300 miles on the ebc greens and now correctly bedded in, I am very happy with them. they are def better then the stock yota pads that came off. However are a bit dusty, but could just be cause they are still new.
It was such an improvement to adjust the rear brakes and now these pads.

I do still plan to do the big brake upgrade this fall

You may want to try the Greenstuff 7000 pads for the TBU,they're supposed to produce less dust than the 6000 series.
